During the full moon, all of your emotions, both positive and negative, are likely to be strengthened. It is a time of extremes, excitement and fruition, when some of your plans fall into place.
However, it can also bring disappointment, when life falls short of your dreams, or when some things turn out not to be viable. This can be tougher to take in the hyped-up climate of the moment. It is hard to be totally sensible at full moon – after all, it is the phase most associated, traditionally, with lunacy! Nothing is likely to turn our heads more than sexual passion, and feelings may also run high in friendships.
This isn’t a time for momentous decisions or detailed planning. It is instead a good time for releasing pent-up emotions, so try to let your feelings run their course – whether in tears or laughter. If a display of feeling really may affect things in ways that are not to your long-term benefit, it may be better to distance yourself from the person responsible and unburden yourself to an uninvolved friend. Be careful about being overly confrontational during this phase.
The full moon is an ideal time for celebrations, weddings, engagements and large gatherings of family and friends. By all means, schedule the good times for now but keep in mind that there might be a slightly unpredictable influence around, especially on the actual night of the full moon and the 24 hours on either side of it. This is truly a time of romance and enchantment. We all know relationships involve many practical matters, but now is not the best time to focus on these. Allow yourself to dream and fantasise a little.
Things to do with your loved ones during a full moon
- Write down all your thoughts and daydreams in your lunar journal, however bizarre they may seem at first glance. You never know what might come of them.
- Take a day or two off work if you can, to spend some ‘quality time’ with the people that matter most to you.
- Go on a holiday or a short trip, just for fun.
- Buy someone some flowers.
- Express your feelings to the person that matters, either face to face or in poetry.
- This is a good time to get engaged or married, to make love with a new partner for the first time or to start trying for a baby if that is what you want.
- Have a true ‘love fest’ with your partner – indulge in all the added extras such as romantic meals, candle-lit baths, oil massages, rose petals scattered on the bed, and champagne and strawberries for breakfast.
- Make love outside, especially in the light of the full moon.
- Dance all night with friends or your lover.
- Buy someone you love an extra-special gift.
- Take a group photo of friends and family, having a wonderful time.
- Make time to play with or tell stories to any children to whom you are close.
- Have a long, indulgent meal with anyone who is special to you.
- Explore mutual interests with your friends and family. Whether you love going bowling or birdwatching, it will be more fun right now.
- Organise a large party with friends and family and serve a ‘lunar banquet’ of white foods such as grapes, cheese, cucumber, chicken, fish and melon. You may wish to place a large silver candle in the centre of the table in honour of the moon. And you could make or buy some sort of fun, silver-coloured crown and let people take turns at being ‘Moon Monarch’ – where they give other people light-hearted tasks to do.
